Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston South Carolina partnered with Wellogy and OLC Designs to convert a former restaurant into a free-standing Diagnostics and Emergency Department for the hospital. Chronic flooding pushed the Department from its existing site to the abandoned restaurant bringing with it the ability to improve efficiency, patient and staff flow, and sightlines. By placing the well-being of the patient and staff at the forefront of the design process, the outcome is one of strong patient care, supported by full imaging capabilities and a diagnostic laboratory. The interior décor promotes healthy materials and healing colors in pursuit of wellbeing.
