The OhioHealth Neighborhood Care Center is located in the same development as a Giant Eagle Marketplace Facility in Hilliard, Ohio. Occupying part of a two-story, 50,000 gsf building that became part of the overall grocery, retail, restaurant, and multi-family development was a unique opportunity for the healthcare system. With urgent care, physical therapy, sports medicine, and imaging uses, as well as individual providers on the second floor, the building is truly a multi-disciplinary center.
The budget and schedule were very tight on the project. A challenge our team overcame was to incorporate changes to the model energy code into the exterior façade without affecting the overall budget. Accommodating ongoing changes in the tenant fit-out design during the design of the core and shell proved to be a test of the design team’s coordination skills.
