Ohio Expo Master Plan 2013 : Ohio Expositions Commission

The Ohio Expo Center is a 300-acre diverse year-round facility, which accommodates approximately 200 events of all types and sizes in addition to the annual Ohio State Fair. The Ohio Expo Master Plan Update addresses current and future market demand, expansion opportunities, modernization of existing infrastructure and facilities, and improvement of customer experience. Ultimately our team provided a 10-year phased Master Plan that serves as a roadmap for development and a platform for capital funding. The Master Plan addressed the following planning issues:

  • Comprehensive Facility Study Assessments with Life Cycle Cost Analysis and Sustainable Recommendations.
  • Pedestrian and site circulation.
  • Overall building conditions and recommendations for improvement and additional uses year around.
  • Evaluating and planning for possible building replacement.
  • Site and building expansion to provide for additional non-fair revenues.Developed conceptual design of new Equine 1000 Stall Agriculture Pavilion and new Expositions facility on north campus.
  • Existing client base and competition from other venues.

The value to the State of Ohio and the OFCC is that this master plan update is an invaluable tool and foundation for capital planning and long-term growth and facility improvement to ensure the Ohio Expo’s status as one of the premier exhibition and events facilities nationally for years to come.
