This major elevator modernization took place in a high-profile public building that remained in full operation for the full duration of the 18-month, on-site construction time. Our team took special care to emphasize both the high-security level in the building as well as the importance of protection of all existing finishes. For example, the elevator lobby on the first floor displays detailed mosaics on the walls, and the elevator panels feature bas relief bronze carvings depicting pieces of Ohio’s heritage. The benefits to the client include minimal impact by the project on the building itself and its occupants; phased construction to maximize elevator efficiency and allowed for a seamless transition for the dedicated car for the Supreme Court Justices; and ultimately, to provide the Supreme Court with a reliable elevator system. The project successfully completed in July of 2017.
