Eastland Primary Care Relocation & Expansion

To meet the healthcare needs of the Eastland area of Columbus, Nationwide Children’s Hospital relocated and expanded its Eastland Primary Care Hub into an existing retail center to provide greater access and additional services to the local patient population. The new location combines two existing retail suites, one a former restaurant and the other a former electronics store, to provide a comprehensive range of health services. Services range from primary care to nutrition services and behavioral health consultation. The services are offered in a setting to support the physical, dietary, education, and mental needs of patients, with better outcomes as a primary focus.

The program includes 16 exam rooms, three behavioral health exam rooms, two nutrition consult rooms, two hearing, and vision testing rooms, two social workrooms, and shelled space for a future 5-chair dental clinic build-out. The exterior storefront was modified to create a new entrance and vestibule, as well as minor sidewalk modifications for a new accessible ramp, to provide easy access for parents with strollers.
