Laboratory efficiency is fundamental to high-quality patient care. Improved efficiency, achieved by implementing a practical workflow plan and obtaining the most out of the equipment, would elevate productivity, improve staff utilization, and compress time-to-result. Wellogy, selected to redesign the Rhodes Hall Blood Lab, was charged with increasing capacity through enhanced efficiency and equipment replacement in the facility’s only blood laboratory.
The laboratory layout and associated automated line equipment were the first of their kind in the country. The well-coordinated effort allowed the Medical Center to implement the critical equipment into its operations seamlessly and with little downtime of their existing operations. Capacities increased by 25% with the necessary infrastructure to bring additional modules online as needed.
