29 Park Place and Carriage House Renovation

Wellogy led the conversion of 29 Park Place and the Carriage House from a residential property to an Academic Engagement Center that houses a “mini-campus” elevating the academic engagement of the honors program. The new spaces include collaborative, social, meeting, and study spaces as well as office and event spaces for students and staff.

The historic building served as the home for Ohio University presidents until 2015. The property remained vacant for several years and was been designated as non-residential for the conversion. Known issues of the property include roof deterioration causing water infiltration problems, a bat infestation, and deferred maintenance to bring the location to proper working order including ADA accessibility. The HVAC, fire, and electrical systems are updated, as well as the interior concept. Maintaining historical elements of the building was a priority to retain the original charm and grandeur of the property.
